 MUCH MORE

Romans10 Amplified Bible: “Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more (certain it is that) we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son; it is MUCH MORE (certain), now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His (resurrection) life.”

Have you caught the significance of the “MUCH MORE”?  It especially blesses me to know that since we are “reconciled” to God we now have victory in our “daily life”.  The verse tells us that sin does not have dominion over us any more.  I believe that is a truth we sometimes fail to realize.

We know that we CAN and DO “sin” but the truth is that when we do, it is because we have CHOSEN to sin.  God has put within us the power of the Holy Spirit; He is present to help us if only we will ask.

We know the sin of Adam and Eve has been passed on to all generations but:  What Jesus did when He gave His Life for us is MUCH MORE effective than the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  Often we give more credit to the enemy than we should.  His power has been broken.

Jesus defeated Him when He rose from the dead.  Let us confess the truth that what Jesus accomplished for us is MUCH MORE effective than the fall of the first Parents.   As we begin to confess that truth there will be a new freedom in our lives that cannot be taken away.

The following commentary, from my SFLB, may help you understand that truth:  Adam headed the old humanity characterized by sin and death.

Jesus Christ heads a new humanity characterized by righteousness and life.  We come under the consequences of Adam’s deed by natural birth.  We come under Christ’s obedience by faith.”  The truth of that statement is backed up by:

2 Corinthians 5: 17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  Then to really set a “seal” on that truth, verse 21 of that chapter tells us:

“For He (Father God) made Him (Jesus) Who knew no sin to BE SIN for us, that we might become the righteousness of God IN HIM----IN JESUS!”

Oh thank you Lord for the Wonderful Salvation that we have in Jesus!  Through Him we can know the Joy that brings the strength and ability to live victoriously no matter what the circumstances in life might be. Remember our closing scripture:

Nehemiah 8:10:  THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH!!!
