Gleanings for March 3
Eternal Life Can be Yours
John 3: 36: Berkeley Translation: “He/she who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he/she who disobeys the Son will not see life but God’s wrath remains upon them.”
That verse precedes the chapter we began sharing yesterday of Jesus’ encounter with the Woman at the Well.
Our confessions of Faith will begin today with John
3: 36 and go on to cover much of the 4th
Chapter of John, they will come to
you as we find them recorded in the Personalized
Promise Bible:
“I believe in Jesus with all of my heart and right now, this very minute, I have eternal life. I shall never be condemned or experience God’s wrath.
“I know Jesus and I recognize God’s gift to me. I have become a partaker of the living water that He offers to me.
“I have drunk the full measure of the living water. I shall never thirst again. The living water that Jesus has given me has become a spring of water welling up continually within me unto eternal life.
“I am a genuine worshipper of my heavenly Father. He sought me out and has called me to fellowship with Him in an actual Father and son/daughter relationship.
“I make my contact with Him through my spirit. As spiritual beings, we can fellowship with each other in spirit and in truth.
“My fulfillment in life is to do the will of my heavenly Father and to accomplish what He has called me to do.
“I have become a reaper in the harvest fields of the Lord. There are multitudes that cannot be counted who are ready to receive the Gospel and I am called to proclaim it to them.
“I neither plant nor tend the crop. The time and planting and tending is over—the fields are already white unto harvest. My purpose is to reap souls into the kingdom.
“The Word of the Lord has been given and I believe it without exception, compromise or wavering. It is settled and accomplished in my life.”
As I suggested yesterday, I would again encourage you to get your own Bible and read the entire chapter of John 4. The Faith Confessions above cover most of that chapter and as you read it again from the translation best suited to you, you may be able to add some faith words of your own.
Making the scriptures meaningful to us is vital for growing in believing and in trusting the God Who has given us His Word—the truth of that WORD will never become outdated—it is ALIVE—up to date! It will help you to know:
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH!!
