Gleanings for June 9

NEVER AGAIN

 

             Proverbs 18: 21 NLB:  “Those who love to talk will experience the consequences, for the tongue can kill or nourish life.”  NKJV:  “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.  Those who love it will eat its fruit.”

 

              Don Gossett, an author of a number of good books wants us to be encouraged to stop saying: “I can’t” so he has written the following:

(1)   Never again will I confess “I Can’t” because “I CAN do all things through Christ Who strengthens me”  Philippians 4:13

(2)   Never again will I confess lack, because “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:19

(3)   Never again will I confess fear, because “God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of love, and of a sound mind.”  I Timothy l:7

(4)   Never again will I confess doubt and lack of faith, because “God has given to every person the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3

(5)   Never again will I confess weakness, because “The Lord is the strength of my life.”  Psalm 27:1 and “But the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”  Daniel ll:32

(6)   Never again will I confess supremacy of Satan over my life, because “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”.  1 John 4:4

(7)   Never again will I confess defeat, because “God, Who always causes us to triumph in Christ.”  1 Corinthians 2:14

(8)   Never again will I confess lack of wisdom, because “Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom.”  1 Corinthians l:30

(9)   Never again will I confess sickness, because “With His stripes we are healed” Isaiah 53:5 and “Jesus Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.”  Matthew 8:17.

(10)                   Never again will I confess worries and frustrations, because I am told to “Cast all my care upon Him, for He cares for me.”  1 Peter 5: 7

(11)                   Never again will I confess bondages, because “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”  2 Corinthians 3:17

(12)                   Never again will I confess condemnation, because “There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus.”  Romans 8:1

                        Here are a couple more verses from Proverbs which give wisdom that   will be a good closing scripture for you to meditate on:

 

            Proverbs 4: 20 - 22 NLB:  “Pay attention, my child to what I say.  Listen carefully, do not lose sight of my words---they will bring life and radiant health to all who find them.”  As you do this, you will know:
