Gleanings for December 10
FAITH CONFESSIONS
PERSONALIZED PROMISE BIBLE
I Peter 2: 9 – 12: “I have been specifically chosen by God to be a royal priest in His household—a citizen of a holy nation—a son/daughter of God who is of God and in every way belonging to Him.
“I have been snatched out of darkness and translated into His wonderful light. I give Him praise, honor, and glory for what He has done for me.
“I was once a hostile alien with an abusive father (the devil), but now I am a son/daughter of God and a member of His family.
I was once a stranger to mercy, but now I am filled with the grace, mercy, and loving-kindness of my heavenly Father.
I am now an alien and a stranger to the world. I am resolved to abstain from all sinful desires which war against my soul.
“I live such a good life among unbelievers that, though they are always accusing me and trying to find fault in me, they cannot help but recognize my good deeds and give God glory every time they see what He is doing in my life.”
I Peter 2: 13 – 15: “For the Lord’s sake, I submit myself to every authority instituted among men:
“Whether to kings, prime ministers or presidents as the supreme authority of the government, or to governors, mayors, or judges who carry out justice, punishing those who do wrong and commending those who do right.
“It is God’s will that trough my good deeds and conduct I should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.”
I John 3: 16 – 24: “This is how I know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for me. In light of this, I will lay down my life for the Church.
“If I see a brother or sister in need, and I have the means to help them, I do so. I do not just say I love my family, but prove it through the things I do.
“It is this that gives me assurance that I belong to the Truth. It sets my heart at rest in His presence in those times when, in my heart, I feel condemned; for God is greater than my heart, and He knows everything. And I know that, in (or from) Him, I do not suffer condemnation of any kind.
“My heart does not condemn me, for I have rid myself of all condemnation consciousness. I have confidence in God’s presence and know of a certainty that I receive anything and everything that I ask of Him.
“I maintain this confidence by following the influence of my new nature, obeying His commands and doing that which is pleasing in His sight.
“This is His command to me: that I believe in the name of Jesus (in its power and authority in the earth and that I have been given legal power of attorney to us it) and that I have an active love for the Church. I obey my Lord’s command. I have truly become one with Him. I am in Him and He is in me. Together, we are one.
“God has given me His Spirit to assure and comfort me. Through the Spirit, I know that I am His and that He lives within me.”
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH!
