Gleanings for August 9
WE WORSHIP YOU LORD
This devotional is from my journal which
is dated:
As we “visit” with our Heavenly Father today—please make the words apply to your own life—let it be your personal prayer to your Father God:
“Good Morning Lord: I worship and praise You with pen and ink again this morning. I want to tell you that I love You Lord.
“As I use this pen to write my thoughts, please let my words EXALT YOU, as I speak Glory to Your Name.
“Thank You that Your Glory comes flowing back to me even as I write.
“As I worship You, my heart is open to receive—I want to be a clean vessel, fit for the Master’s use.
“Please instruct me in areas of my life that need revival. I want to be ready to be used whenever and however You see a need.
“Thank You that Your Word never fails because Jesus is THE WORD and He (God) is LOVE, and Love never fails. Thank You for miracles that happen as we walk in Your love.
“You continue to teach me many things; one big thing is “forgiveness” -- a most important ingredient for a yielded life. Offenses will come to everyone but YOUR LOVE and your GRACE are always available to cover over and remove all hurts.
“Thank You that life does not have to be boring because in YOU, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I can live a life that is FULL, ABUNDANT, and EXCITING.
“You inspire me to do and say the things that are necessary for that kind of life. I say, “Thank You Lord for living BIG in me.”
As I read the above prayer, some verses from Psalm 42 came to my thoughts:
Verses 1 and 2 from that Psalm (NKJV) records this:
“As a deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?”
“The
side margin of my Bible has a note for “appear” that says: “When shall I see the face of God?” The answer is found in the New Testament where it tells us that “Jesus came to reveal the face of His Father.”
We should be very grateful that we have the revelation of the New Testament. It brings out to us the Truths that were a mystery to the Old Testament saints
John 14: 6 and part of verse 9 says: “Jesus said to them: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me…He who has seen Me has seen the Father!” Praise the Lord!
When that revelation comes to us we will know:
The JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH!!!.
